Atra!

For a while now, I've been playing around with the idea of creating a character that I can keep coming back to do draw, learn from and hopefully refine in design and character. I really wanted to make a caveman; the paleolithic era and human evolution are topics that I find profoundly interesting. I named him 'Atra'.

Another goal of mine was to become more acquainted with 3D software and modeling, and I figured, what better way to start than with Atra. This is my first my attempt at using Zbrush and was fun as hell to put together, so hopefully there'll be more to come.

Hail and Kill

Looking over my previous blog posts, I realized I wasn't posting anything but heads, so here we are. That and I was listening to a lot of Manowar.

A quick and dirty paint job over a pen drawing. This was a lot of fun and gave me an opportunity to play around with some brushes I don't normally use in Painter.

Work in progress: Troll!

I started drawing a somewhat oafish-looking troll, and fleshed out the head first to get a better feel for how I should finish his body. I'll post the finished product soon.
